  • Save the Glamorgan meeting and AGM Thursday 21 October 2021 19:30 Zoom

After 4 years of fighting plans to demolish The Glamorgan and redevelop the site with multiple flats, the owners have decided to sell up and move on. The “Save the Glamorgan” Campaign has launched a new Community Interest Company, Glamorgan Phoenix, in order to trigger the 6 month moratorium during which the owners cannot sell except to a local community backed organisation. This ends on 11th December 2021.

The Campaign has also secured significant help and advice from the Plunkett Foundation, who are assisting in identifying the optimal way of attracting investment and obtaining grants and other funding in order to finance our bid for the freehold. Two local breweries, Cronx and Dorking, have continued to express their interest in and support for the bid.

Further discussions with the Plunkett Foundation business advisor and the breweries are ongoing, and the Campaign will decide on its approach at its next meeting on 21st October 2021 at 7:30pm. This is also our AGM, so we need a good attendance to be quorate.

Do please attend for an update on the latest situation and to have your say on how we will proceed.

Please register in advance for this meeting:

The Glamorgan, now boarded up, future uncertain.
