Good Beer Guide criteria
The following criteria are used by our branch to select entries for the Good Beer Guide:
• A longlist is prepared from twelve months’ beer scoring (NBSS) statistics
• All pubs with a minimum average score of 3.0 from five or more members are included
• A score in each of the four quarters is preferred, although consideration is given if just one quarter is missing
• Volunteers then survey each of the eligible pubs
• Each borough has a target allocation (Croydon 9; Sutton 5)
• Final selection then takes place by voting at a branch meeting. (The current statistics - including ‘confidence rating’ as well as any comments by the surveyor - are available to members present)
