The Claret Wine Bar closed on 31 October 2025. A significant refurbishment is being carried out, following which the pub will reopen as the 'Halfway Inn'.
The pub is in Cheam's main street, handy for the shops and public transport. It has a regular friendly clientele. The decor is mainly light wood and the compact interior houses tables of different sizes. The regular cask ale may be supplemented by another at busy times.
